Dental Tooth Implants : Are they right for you?

Dental Implants are appropriate for almost anyone who is in reasonably good health and is currently missing teeth or is at risk of losing teeth. You must have enough bone in the area of treatment to provide for the anchorage of the implants.
Dental Implants

If you're thinking about getting dental implants, there are a few things to consider. Patients must be in good health, as the healing abilities affected by a disease can affect the success of the dental implant. It can take as little as six weeks to as much as four months for implants to heal completely. Healing time will vary depending on the patient and the type of dental implant used.

The amount and condition of the bone in the area where the dental implant is to be placed is also a primary consideration for implant patients. The area of the jaw where a tooth is missing will naturally undergo a thinning of the bone. If the bone is too thin for the implant to take successfully, a patient may need to have a bone graft performed prior to any tooth implants.
